“The primroses were over.” One of my all-time favorite books is Watership Down by Richard Adams, which takes place on the pastoral downs of the English countryside. The sometimes nettlesome and sometimes lush terrain is traversed by rabbits, so its brambly tuftedness is described in detail. I was re-reading this book as I designed this sweater, and it was the unconscious inspiration for the textured, knobbly yoke. The result is a fitted sweater with short or long sleeves that is understated in one color, making it a staple wardrobe piece.

Pattern Notes

Watership is a fitted, top down, round yoke pullover with lace and bobbles in the yoke and easy stockinette in the body.

How to Choose a Size

Choose your size primarily on bust measurement, but because the sleeves are fitted for a modern look, be sure to take sleeve circumference into account.  See schematic for all the details. For more ease, size up!
