Yarn Info
St. Petersburg Super Bulky - Non-Superwash
100% Andean Highland Wool 100g / 44 yards / 40 meters / 3ply
Perfect for chunky accessories that don’t need to be washed a lot, like the Allotrope Hat. St. Petersburg Super Bulky would make an amazing super bulky sweater, if that’s your thing! Or if you’re in St. Petersburg in January.
Berlin Bulky - Superwash
100% Fine Superwash Merino Wool 100g / 109 yards / 100 meters / 2ply
Super soft and hard-wearing, Berlin Bulky is great for hats, mittens, sweaters, slippers and can stand up to being washed often. Hold this yarn double with mohair for a soft, fuzzy, warm Everywhere Sweater.
Amsterdam Aran - Superwash
80% Superwash Merino / 10% Cashmere / 10% Nylon
100g / 181 yards / 166 meters / 3 ply
Amsterdam Aran is dreamy and cashmerey, with lots of drape. It is thick, silky and velvety, and it takes dye in a beautifully tonal way. It makes an amazing Everywhere Hat, and would be great for any accessories or garments that touch sensitive areas like your neck or wrists.
Warsaw Worsted - Superwash
100% Superwash Merino Wool / 100g / 215 yards / 197 meters / 4 ply
This is a very soft, workhorse yarn that blooms when you wash it, even though it is a Superwash. Perfect for toys, mittens, hats, slippers, sweaters or worsted weight socks or scarves, Warsaw Worsted is hearty and strapping. It is a go-to yarn for any worsted weight needs, including colorwork!
Dubrovnik DK - Superwash
100% Superwash Merino Wool / 100g / 246 yards / 225 meters
Dubrovnik DK is the little brother to Warsaw Worsted - it’s everything Warsaw is in a slightly thinner yarn. (See above for a description of how awesome this yarn is!)
Kiev DK - Superwash
100% Superwash Merino Wool / 100g / 231 yards / 211 meters
Kiev DK is very similar to Dubrovnik DK, but has slightly fewer yards per skein and you typically find this base in 50g, 20g and 10g skeins.
Dresden DK - Non-Superwash
90% Baby Suri Silk Alpaca / 10% Silk / 100g / 246 yards / 225 meters
Dresden DK is like no DK you have ever tried! It’s a Suri Silk… but DK. Twice the fluff makes it feel like a fluffy kitten, and with no prickle factor, this yarn makes the softest, most comfortable (and gorgeous) garments and accessories!
Athens Alpaca - Non-Superwash Sport Weight
100% Baby Alpaca / 100g / 291 yards / 267 meters / 3 ply
This high twist yarn is weighty and soft, and feels like a cloud. With no scratch factor, it is perfect for soft sweaters and accessories in sport weight.
Frankfurt Fingering - Superwash
75% Superwash Merino Wool / 25% Nylon / 100g / 463 yards / 423 meters / 4 ply
Frankfurt Fingering is your classic, strong sock yarn. Great for any fingering weight projects, it is an all-purpose yarn suitable for sweaters, shawls, socks, fingering weight accessories, toys, ornaments - anything! It has high stitch definition and works great in a colorwork project.
Freetown Fingering - Non-Superwash ORGANIC
100% Fine Organic Merino Wool / 100g / 437 yards / 400 meters / single ply
Freetown is a very special yarn. It’s like, if Merino wool could put on a silk dress and pearls and go to a cocktail party, that’s Freetown Fingering. Soft, organic, single ply, Freetown is not easy care and isn’t suitable for anything that sees a lot of wear or washing. I like it for sweaters and shawls that are special. A dream to work with, it blooms delightfully when washed.
Fiji Fingering - Superwash
50% Fine Superwash Merino Wool / 50% Pima Cotton/ 100g / 437 yards / 400 meters / 4 ply
Fiji Fingering is a perfect blend of cool, drapey cotton and soft, pliable wool. It is dyed with the same dye recipe as the all the other yarns, but the dye is all soaked up by the Merino, and not the cotton. The overall effect is a muted, heathery version of the KMP colorway that is soft and gorgeous. Perfect for knitters who live in warmer climates or for summer knits!
Munich Mohair - Non-Superwash
72% Kid Mohair / 28% Silk / 50g / 459 yards / 420 meters / single ply
This is your classic laceweight mohair/silk. It’s super light so there’s a lot of yardage in a 50g skein. It knits beautifully when held together with another yarn to add a halo of fuzz in your project, or it can be used on its own to create a gauzy, diaphanous, translucent fabric.
Stockholm Suri Silk - Non-Superwash
74% Baby Suri Alpaca / 26% Silk / 50g / 328 yards / 293 meters / single ply
Stockholm Suri Silk is very similar to Munich Mohair in application possibilities, with the main difference in the Mohair (from the Angora goat) or the Suri (from the Suri Alpaca). Munich Mohair has a beautiful sheen and low prickle factor, while the Stockholm Suri has a more matte appearance with no prickle factor at all.
