Please note that this listing is for a PDF knitting pattern and not the finished garment.

I have always loved brass tacks. They are heavy and sturdy. They symbolize excellency and the enduring quality of something well made. Like a timeless leather chair that never goes out of style, this sweater contains all the elements of a well-worn basic, with crisp details and a modern fit.

Pattern Notes

Brass Tacks is a top down, round yoke cardigan with easy stockinette in the body and graduated twisted rib details at the hem and cuffs. The button bands are also worked in twisted rib.

Finished Bust Measurements: 32.5 (37.25, 42.5, 49.25) [56.75, 62.75, 68.5]” / 82.5 (94.5, 108, 125) [144, 159.5, 174] cm

Finished Upper Arm Circumference: 12 (12.5, 13, 14) [14.5, 15.5, 17]” / 30.5 (32, 33, 35.5) [37, 39.5, 43] cm

Gauge

 20 sts/ 30 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch

Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge.

How to Choose a Size

Shown in size S on a 35” bust and 12.5” arm circumference, and worn with 2.25”/ 5.5 cm positive ease in the bust and 0”/ 0 cm ease in the sleeves.

Because the sleeves are fitted for a modern look, choose a size based on sleeve circumference AND bust measurement. You will want 2-5" / 5-12 cm positive ease in the bust and 0-1" / 0-2.5 cm positive ease in the upper sleeve.
